From Project to Building Site
The division of work is straightforward: we manufacture the log structure or components, and you continue with the work you already know how to do.
-
1. Define the Project
Start with drawings, a model, an existing design or a clear concept. We establish what we are manufacturing and what remains with the builder.
-
2. Sort Out the Timber
Use our logs or suitable timber from your supplier or your customer's property.
-
3. We Manufacture
Scanning, digital construction, machining and production checks happen here.
-
4. You Assemble and Finish
You receive the manufactured structure or components and continue with the on-site work included in your scope.
Keep the Work You Are Good At
Keep the Work You Are Good At
You know how to build. We have the technology to manufacture the logs.
Foundations, assembly, roofing, windows, doors, interior work and finishing can remain with you. We take care of the specialized manufacturing that happens before the components arrive at the building site.
We manufacture. You build.
Move Manufacturing Off Site
Move Manufacturing Off Site
A large part of traditional natural-log construction happens at the building site. Logs are fitted, removed, cut, checked and fitted again.
We move that work into a controlled manufacturing environment. The components arrive with the required machining already completed, leaving the builder to concentrate on assembly and construction.
In a Canadian winter, that is not a theoretical advantage.
A Long-Term Working Relationship
We are interested in long-term working relationships with good builders, not simply adding names to a dealer list.
Your customer remains your customer. We manufacture the logs and components you need for the project; you remain responsible for the relationship and the work you provide.
Your customer remains your customer.
Keep Your Timber Supplier
Keep Your Timber Supplier
Working with us does not mean changing where you buy timber.
If you already have a supplier who can provide suitable logs, keep using them. The logs can come to us peeled or unpeeled, depending on the project and how you normally work.
If you need timber, we can supply it as well.
Customer-Owned Timber
Sometimes the timber is already standing on the customer's property. That can be used too.
Provided the logs are suitable for the project, they can be harvested, prepared and sent to us for scanning and manufacturing.
The finished building can therefore contain timber that actually came from the land on which it stands.
Size Matters
Size Matters
For wall construction we normally work with logs around 14 inches in diameter, with larger logs commonly used for posts and other structural components.
Smaller logs generally mean another course is required to reach the same wall height, while also leaving less wood through the wall.
Larger logs are not a problem for the manufacturing process. We have machined logs around 30 inches in diameter.
